So, run out of ideas for your photography?  Can’t seem to get anyone to pose for you?  Well, never fear because your next photography subject is close.  So close, in fact, that you can reach out and pick it up right now.

What am I talking about?  Objects.  Any object.  A pencil, notepad, credit card, USB stick, mug, plate, pillow, comb.  Anything you can get your hands on.  Whatever is right in front of you right now is your next photography subject.

Think I’m joking?  Give it a try.  Everything can be made into photographic art, you just have to use a little creativity.

Try different angles, lighting, exposures.  Try to think outside the box.  Instead of photographing the shoe, why not photograph the shoes’ print in the dust.

Try to get at least one interesting photo from whatever is closest to you right now.  Once you’ve got one, try to get two, and so on.

Once you have exhausted your brain thinking of good shots for one object, move on to the next closest thing. And then the next.  Eventually you will have a whole portfolio of interesting photographs of everyday objects that people will love to look at and maybe even buy.

So what are you waiting for!?  Grab your closest object and start snapping away.

Happy shooting!
