For those of you who don’t have easy access to a plethora of good looking models to photograph, or even one for that matter.  What else is there to shoot?  You could ask your partner, or your grandma, or any other family member.  But what if they don’t want to be photographed or they’re sick of you always taking photos of them?

What else can you shoot?

The answer is… lots of stuff.  There are many, many objects around the house or garden that are great for photographing.  For instance, take a look around your computer table right now.  What is there that you could photograph?  A pen? paper? computer mouse? keyboard? CD’s?

Everything can be photographed!!  Don’t get stuck in a rut because you think there is nothing to photograph. There is always something.  Go out for a walk and take a series of photographs of the mailboxes on your street.  Or grab hold of a pencil and try to take 10 different photographs of it, now take 20, 30 or even 40 different photos of the same object.

Yes, taking photographs of a living subject makes for good practice, but so does taking photos of anything else.  Play with the lighting, the angles or the exposures.  You don’t always have to pester your family and friends to pose for you.

So go ahead and give it a try.  You never know what beautiful images you will come up with.

Happy shooting!
